Success Story for Our Island: Mama Banyan and Other Special Trees at Reed's Bay Park (Banyan Drive) Saved!

A great achievement -- resulting from the efforts of many across the island -- with much help from Tim Reese and Syd Singer, and many others whose names I do not know.  See my blogs of January 24th and January 26th in which I wrote about the County's plan to cut down many of the historic and beautiful banyans and other trees at Reed's Bay Park, including the awesome Mama banyan. ... see photos below.   WELL I HAVE NOW BEEN INFORMED THAT THIS SPECIAL TREE AND SOME OTHERS WILL BE SPARED.    I am grateful to Director Bob Fitzgerald for doing whatever was necessary to modify the County's plans to accommodate these historic trees. Here is photo celebrating this great achievement.
